Hakarl is a fermented cheese from Iceland.

Why it is true

Hakarl is an Icelandic dish made from fermented and dried Greenland shark meat. The meat is buried for weeks to eliminate ammonia, and then hung to dry. It has a very strong smell and a unique flavour.
