Scientists have recreated an ancient yoghurt made with live ants.

Why it is true

A team of researchers from the University of Copenhagen and chefs from the Noma restaurant recreated an ancient Bulgarian recipe in which live ants were placed in warm milk. The lactic and acetic acid bacteria carried by the ants coagulate the milk, producing a yoghurt with a sour, herby flavour.
