Apples turn brown because they lose vitamins.

Why it is true

Apples turn brown due to oxidation, when oxygen in the air reacts with phenolic compounds in the flesh, catalysed by the enzyme polyphenol oxidase. The browning does not mean the apple is spoiled or has lost all its vitamins.
