The world's first telephone with built-in microphone and earpiece was invented by a Portuguese man.
Why it is true
Cristiano Bramão, a Portuguese telegraph operator, developed in 1878 a desk telephone that integrated the microphone and earpiece into a single piece, an innovation for the time. He presented his devices at the Paris Universal Exposition, where he was recognised alongside inventors such as Bell and Edison.
