Water is the only natural substance on Earth that exists as a solid, liquid and gas.
Why it is true
Under natural conditions, water can be found in all three physical states at the same time. Ice at the poles, liquid water in the oceans and vapour in the atmosphere coexist. No other substance occurs naturally in all three states on the Earths surface, due to the planets unique combination of temperature and pressure.
