To produce half a kilogram of honey, bees visit about 2 million flowers.
Why it is true
A colony of bees travels about 88,000 kilometres to produce half a kilogram of honey. Each bee visits between 50 and 100 flowers per trip and produces only a small amount of honey over its lifetime. Collective work is essential for production.
