Why it is true
Point Nemo is the oceanic pole of inaccessibility, identified in the 1990s through computer simulations. Ocean currents prevent nutrients from reaching the surface, drastically reducing marine life. When the International Space Station passes overhead, astronauts are closer than any human on land.
