A 2,500-year-old statue buried face down under a Roman road has been discovered in Sardis.
Why it is true
The statue, over 2.13 metres tall, depicts a man with long hair and an elaborate tunic. It was broken into two fragments and found beneath a Roman colonnaded avenue in the ancient capital of the Lydian Empire, in modern-day Turkey.
