Trans-Neptunian objects can contain carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide ices.
Why it is true
Observations with the James Webb Space Telescope detected carbon dioxide in 56 trans-Neptunian objects and carbon monoxide in 28, from a sample of 59 objects. These bodies preserve pristine materials from the formation of the Solar System, about 4.6 billion years ago.
