Why it is true
Astronomers have detected a massive molecular cloud in the Sagittarius B2 region, near the center of our galaxy. This cloud contains vast amounts of ethyl alcohol, among other complex organic compounds, demonstrating that chemical reactions in space can produce molecules similar to those found on Earth.
