Stanford researchers invented the first self-powered mechanical circuits that learn.
Why it is true
The circuits use a mechanism called Adaptive Directed Springs (ADS), which work like mechanical neurons capable of changing their strength over time. The more they move, the stiffer the springs become, allowing the system to learn and adapt to its environment without electronics.
