Scientists have created an edible biscuit from PET bottle waste.
Why it is true
The µBites project uses microorganisms to transform PET bottle components into proteins, vitamins and other nutrients. The result is an experimental vanilla-flavoured food, 3D printed, which could feed astronauts on future space missions and people in disaster zones.
