Physicists created the world's smallest QR code, measuring just 50 by 50 nanometers.
Why it is true
Using a scanning tunneling microscope, researchers positioned silver atoms one by one to form a QR code that is more than a thousand times smaller than the width of a human hair. The resulting image can be read by a common phone camera.
