A new species of blue octopus the size of a golf ball has been discovered in the Galápagos.
Why it is true
The new species, named Microeledone galapagensis, was found at a depth of 1,768 metres near Darwin Island. The octopus is blue, has small tentacles with a single row of suckers, and was studied with computed tomography to avoid damaging it.
