Why it is true
Although koalas are marsupials and humans are primates, both evolved to grip tree trunks and branches. That evolutionary pressure led to the development of ridges on the skin of their fingertips, which increase friction. Koala fingerprints are so similar to ours that forensic experts have admitted they could be confused.
