The extinction rate of plants at the tops of European mountains is increasing.
Why it is true
A study from the University of Vienna analysed 62 European mountain peaks and concluded that while plant diversity has increased, the extinction rate of native species has also risen. Global warming is forcing alpine species to move upwards, where they eventually disappear.
