Dolphins sleep with only half of their brain at a time, keeping the other half alert.
Why it is true
As marine mammals, dolphins need to surface to breathe. If they fell completely asleep, they would drown. Therefore, only one brain hemisphere sleeps at a time, while the other controls breathing and watches for predators. After a while, the roles reverse.
