Diamonds can burn like coal when exposed to high temperatures and oxygen.
Why it is true
Diamond is made of pure carbon, just like coal, and combusts at about 800 degrees Celsius in the presence of oxygen. Lavoisier demonstrated this in the 18th century by burning a diamond and proving that only carbon dioxide was released.
