Comet 2I/Borisov came from outside the Solar System and brought clues about the formation of other worlds.
Why it is true
2I/Borisov is the second known interstellar object to visit the Solar System. Its chemical composition, rich in carbon monoxide, differs from local comets, suggesting it formed in a distant, very cold planetary environment around another star.
