Canada has more lakes than the rest of the world combined.
Why it is true
Canada holds about 62 percent of the worlds lakes, estimated at more than 3 million. Most are in the Canadian Shield, where ancient glaciations carved the land. Many lakes are so large they are called inland seas, such as Lake Superior and Lake Huron.
