The astronomer Tycho Brahe wore a metal prosthetic nose.
Why it is true
Tycho Brahe lost part of his nose in a duel in 1566 and had a prosthetic nose made of silver and gold. He was one of the most important astronomers before the invention of the telescope, and his observations of Mars allowed Kepler to formulate the laws of planetary motion.
