Ancient human DNA has been found on cave walls with rock art in Portugal.
Why it is true
A Portuguese team participated in the world's first discovery of ancient human DNA preserved on prehistoric cave walls. Three of the five authentic samples were identified in Escoural Cave, in Montemor-o-Novo, the only site in Portugal with Palaeolithic art in a cave context.
