Why it is true
The African continent is crossed by the Equator and the Prime Meridian. This means that parts of Africa lie in the northern and southern hemispheres, and also in the eastern and western hemispheres. No other continent occupies all four divisions at once. The Americas, for example, lie only in the northern and southern hemispheres, but not east and west.
